STRIDE was started by the YMCA of the Brandywine Valley to help boys in grades three to five develop strong character and healthy living habits.
A fun, interactive program of games and activities helps boys explore and discuss important life topics, while fitness and running activities help them build the stamina and confidence to run a 5K.
STRIDE is an acronym; each letter represents an important characteristic that builds character. Success, Teamwork, Respect, Inspiration, Determination = Excellence in Character. STRIDE
Mission Statement: We encourage boys to exhibit excellence in character in all aspects of their lives, make healthy choices, and build confidence by leading them with a curriculum that incorporates fun activities and running.
The 2017 spring season will begin on Monday, February 13, 2017.
The celebratory Super Run 5K & 8K will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017, 8:00 a.m. around beautiful Lake Lanier!
The cost for this program is $75 per participant; financial assistance is available for those that qualify.
